When AM General began producing the Humvee for their US military contract in 1984, little did they know they would see the level of demand for the vehicle throughout its years of production - demand from both government contracts, as well as sky high civilian demand. While AM General produced the civilian version Hummer H1 from 1992-1996, the military production Humvees experienced production for a much longer timespan, but rolled off the assembly line right next to their civilian counterparts with the vast majority of components being shared between the two (the H1 models were simply painted and finished out in a separate building). This particular example is a true Humvee, having been produced originally for non-civilian use and then being converted into its current state after being decommissioned. It is a true, rugged, military grade Humvee, with a laundry list of upgrades to make it a great road worthy original Hummer option - upgrades include a Custom Exterior w/ Rhino Lining, Full Custom Interior Finish Out, 3000W Sound System w/ CarPlay, Upgraded Big Brakes, and LED Headlights as well as LED Front/Rear Light Bars. The ORIGINAL 6.2L Detroit Diesel V8 Engine as well as the 4-Speed Automatic Transmission has been retained and recently overhauled to ensure top working order, as well as a new water pump having been performed. The road present of this Humvee cannot be understated, with a go anywhere and do anything attitude. With the civilian version Hummer H1 models having absolutely skyrocketed in value, the military grade Humvee models with proper modifications to make it civilian friendly are a superb option at a significantly better price point!
